Re: Photos & Finds Thread

Could they have been sprayed with pesticide or something? They look very off to me. I wouldn't consume them, but you could use them in a slurry to coax amanitas to grow elsewhere. I found that Amanitas that have gone off have a fishy smell to them, and are usually a bit soggy where they are rotting...

Re: Photos & Finds Thread

I found these today. They look a little old and I couldn't really see any color on them. I think they've either faded as they start to die or they might be Amanita pantherina. Anyone have an opinion on which it could be? And would you bother harvesting shrooms in this stage or are they too far gone...

For How Long Will Stored Amanita Spores Remain Fertile?

For how long can Amanita spores remain fertile in storage?

I've made some Amanita Muscaria spore prints on paper to experiment with at a later date.
How long can these spores be stored for and still remain fertile?

IDK but I think pantherina would be more brown
I agree, Pantherinas are brown.
The ones in the photo look like dried Muscarias to me - baked by the sun.

Re: Cloudy tea with whitish stringy goo: Is it okay?

I get this stringy goo too. Your tea hasn't gone off. I was told it is 'chitin'. I presume this 'chitin' is the cell walls of the fungus, which can't be broken down, at least not by this method of preparation. When I make my tincture (which I mistakenly called a 'tea' in my post on it) for microdosi...

Swanie Simon talks about using it on animals, either in the first video or the second one. Re: Rebis' First Low Recreational Exploration Dose

Thanks for the report. Do you think you will try a higher dose? Yes, eventually, Cheryl, but not just yet. I would have gone for a higher dose last time but I didn't have enough Amanita muscarias last season to experiment with. I needed enough left over for my microdosing. I don't know how much hig...

Re: Foraging

Best weather conditions is after it has rained when they begin to pop up again. You will have to take into consideration how long it takes for them to grow to maturity though - something I haven't worked out yet, but I think it is about two to three days before they are ripe for picking, though I mi...

Rebis' First Low Recreational Exploration Dose

Okay, initially I wasn't going to post the report below. It's from my Amanita diary for three days in January and February 2020 earlier this year. My ultimate aim is to replicate eventually Donald E. Teeter's experiments with Amanita muscaria. In the meantime I tried some very small doses to experim...

Re: Creating conditions to encourage Amanita to bind with a host

I've only begun using agar for mushroom spore germination and have never tried sprouting pine seeds but... I think I've seen posts from people that have germinated Amanita spores on agar so... If pine seeds were sprouted on something clean, like kitchen paper soaked with pure water (or only the min...
