Re: first time dose amount

Should we micro before we start macro-ing? I keep seeing the statement: Amanitas are safe but don't overdo it! When do you "overdo" it? Having a piece of dried cap a day, is that overdoing it? Should use be limited to once a week or something like it? Is this microdosing protocol really necessary? I...

Re: first time dose amount

Is this about macro dosing? I'm confused about this. In another thread, some guy described starting with a dose, waited maybe 20 mins and then took a larger dose and carried on like that, if I remember correctly (which I don't always do). I believe Amanita Dreamer said this was a good method. The ot...

How to macro

Yesterday I tried making tea for the first time. I simmered 15g of air-dried amanitas that I had collected myself in 250ml of water for 20 minutes. Approximately 10 mins in I added a splash of water for good measure. When it was done I was suprised at 1, how little it was (perhaps less that 50 ml) a...

Re: Less Is More

Last week I tried eating small pieces of air dried amanitas. Didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. Started with a piece the size of a finger tip, nothing. Slightly bigger from the same cap the next day, still nothing. Bigger still from the same cap the next day, nothing. Either I am microdosing ...

Re: Thin slices for faster drying?

Follow up question:

If you slice them thin and stick them in a dehydrator for a couple of hours let's say at 70c, do you still get 30% conversion? Does time in the dehydrator affect how much conversion happens?

Re: Thin slices for faster drying?

Ok that's good to know!

They actually air dry pretty well as whole caps, but I have this net that I put them on so air gets to them from the bottom as well. Still I like to cut them in half just to make sure there's nothing nasty in them that might eat everything up.

Re: How to make 50/50 conversion?

I am no expert and all around new to all this but here's my idea:

If the purpose of a cold water extraction is to only get the ibotenic acid, then I suppose you simply take one part ibo and one part all-muscimol and voila: you just got a 50/50 conversion.

Lactobacillus

Lactobacillus bacteria is used to fully convert ibotenic acid to muscimol. It is found in some yoghurts and ginger.

My questions are:

How fast does this conversion happen?

And:

Could you just plop a piece of ginger in the tea before you drink it?

Thin slices for faster drying?

Drying caps whole sure looks cool.

But why not slice them thin so they will dry faster? Would save time in the dehydrator!

Any reason not to do it?

Re: Making tea from non-dried amanita?

Bumping this.

Also, if yes, would you still use 15g of fresh amanitas?
