Re: A journey im looking forward to starting

So, long time psychonaut here, ive had hundreds of trips of many varieties,......." Wow, I could have written this myself. I read a lot of stories from a lot of people and not many make me cry like this. I am so happy you're experiencing this. I wish more people would try low doses and see what it ...

Re: oven question

seems like a silly question but answers gratefully received if you dry amanita in your oven and then bake a cake in it later on that day will the cake be contaminated and hallucinogenic or not. Not at all my friend. No silly questions, just education all around. The only way to be affected by this ...

Re: Creating conditions to encourage Amanita to bind with a host

I've only begun using agar for mushroom spore germination and have never tried sprouting pine seeds but... I think I've seen posts from people that have germinated Amanita spores on agar so... If pine seeds were sprouted on something clean, like kitchen paper soaked with pure water (or only the min...

Re: Possibly why mushrooms have a bad rep

What I find particularly annoying is that many people in the know that will admit it is edible if you prepare it properly have no issue with calling it toxic or inedible because they personally do not think that it is worth the trouble for the taste. Its like that does not change the facts and the ...

Re: Are the stems useful at all?

Stems only contain trace amounts of actives I wouldn't bother keeping. You need them for ID purposes but once you are done with that you can toss em Ok, thank you. I saw a video from Amanita Dreamer where she was drying them along with the caps and I didn't really get why. That was last year's harv...

Re: Can someone present a reliable scientific source for conversion temperature?

Conversion happens in a liquid medium at temperatures above 165F and below 284F. Whatever it is you want to do, use those parameters and you will convert 30%. If you dried at heat that was 30%. Lemon will convert 30% or any acid pH 3.5 or lower. Freezing will preserve it, yes. Is there any differen...

Re: Can someone present a reliable scientific source for conversion temperature?

You're confusing drying temperatures with boiling temps in prep later. Drying at heat is for converting that 30% and for storage. You want conversion but not to break cell walls because you want to store it. Boiling is to further convert and breaking cell walls is fine, it's what you want because y...

Re: Can someone present a reliable scientific source for conversion temperature?

https://patents.justia.com/patent/8784835 This has me thinking that sous vide cooking would have something to offer here. In her preparation video Amanita Dreamer says to simmer 15g of Amanita caps in 1 cup of water for 20 - 30 minutes. While I appreciate the instruction, this can be wildly varying...
