Re: Who will sell me some Amanita?

Thank you for the recommendation. I just made a small order there - if it's delivered unmolested by Chilean customs I'll go back for more. I'm really looking forward to my first taste of Amanita and later to compare and contrast to what I hope to find growing here next season.

Re: Is this an Amanita muscaria?

I think I see a pattern around the edge of the cap that looks a bit like the lines some coins have on their edges - which is something I think I've seen on pictures of Amanita jacksonii...

Who will sell me some Amanita?

I'm in Chile and Amanita definitely grows locally but I missed the season - again. Send me a PM or ask anything you'd like in this thread.

I'm really intriuged by what you found there. The name makes me think of Ibogaine.

Re: What are your rituals?

Just to underscore what modern life helps us overlook, a number of Asian cultures have tea ceremonies and, despite traveling in Japan many years ago, I was still surprised at just how developed and deep some of these rituals are. Toward the beginning of last year I met Mika Hartikainen at a plant me...

Facebook unlike / unfollow from Amanita Dreamer

I just noticed that I had been auto-unliked from the Amanita Dreamer Facebook page so I'd like to suggest that everyone check in and make sure you're still able to get those posts.

Re: Fleece cultivation

Getting caught up on this thread has been fascinating - thank you to all who contributed, particularly Mcpato. btw I think you may have a cast-iron constitution and only hope that I do too because I'd like to try this myself. To those with less forgiving stomachs, I wanted to suggest that you try mo...

Re: DMSO converts ibotenic acid to muscimol 100% yield and enhances it.!?

I've heard that DMSO has the effect of making skin more permeable, for instance, mixing it with lemon juice, touching the mixture and then being able to taste lemon only from that contact. It would be interesting to mix a little Amanita powder with a few drops of DMSO and simply apply it to the palm...

Reactivity in the absence of water

I have no experience with preparing Amanita muscaria for consumption but I'm curious about the practice of drying these mushrooms to a crisp and then waiting months for ibotenic acid conversion. I understand that a freshly picked mushroom contains too much water to do anything other than rot but sur...
