Re: Amanita muscaria propagating towards the Southern Hemisphere

It seems to be that the Apache insurrection began after the declaration of independence of México led by europeans and mestizos, and later became a long war with the USA. In 1848, USA occupied 52% of mexican territories. La Apachería was part of those territories. México and USA forced apaches back ...

Re: Amanita muscaria propagating towards the Southern Hemisphere

Vilca (Anadenanthera colubrina) rapés use for euphoric/ecstatic purposes may have been (I´m guessing here) substituted for other more "benign" and/or rewarding sacramental medicines like San Pedro Trichocereus pachanoii cacti, specially in the andean regions where the Chavin culture developed, and d...

Re: The Purpose of Converting Ibotenic Acid Is ...?

Maybe the organoleptic properties of this mushroom are another factor that made Am valued in cultures that used it, besides muscimol´s gaba agonist action.

Ibotenic acid´s savory umami like flavor and action possibly enhance mannitol´s sweetness?

Re: The Healing Chemical in Amanita Muscaria Is ..?

I guess it depends on what it is that you want to heal specifically, and even how healing works? It would be interesting to know how commercially available Am tinctures are produced. "Full spectrum extraction" tinctures, or fluid extracts, are oftenly the best way to get the most out of a given fung...

Re: The Purpose of Converting Ibotenic Acid Is ...?

Ibotenic acid has been patented as a flavor enhancer in 1969 in the US if i´m correct. Monosodium glutamate is used instead of ibotenic acid for that purpose. There´s some debate over monosodium glutamate neurotoxicity as well.

do you prefer tinctures over teas medicinally? that's my main thing right now.
Yes, medicinally. Alcohol dissolves a wider range of chemicals than just hot water.
