Re: Amanita Vodka Help!

Thanks for the tip, but i thought that, if applied for long enough like 4 weeks, the heat produced by a heater would be suffiecient to convert 30% of ibotenic acid. Is that not the case? Nope, sorry to disappoint you.... But conversion with heat will only happen at about 75 degrees Celsius in a DRY...

Re: Amanita Vodka Help!

24 AM and 6 AP? In a single bottle vodka? If it's a 1-litre-bottle, this stuff could pack some punch  . My (russian) sources say to put the bottle next to a window into the sunlight, but given the UV-sensitivity of ibotenic acid (and the unknown effects of muscazone), I think it was a wise mo...

Re: Amanita Pantherina, aka, Panther Cap

Here is another paper, comparing the effects of muscaria poisoning to pantherina poisoning - of course behind a paywall  But the abstract is promising... Toxicon. 2014 Nov;90:269-72. doi: 10.1016/j.toxicon.2014.08.067. Epub 2014 Aug 27. Amanita muscaria and Amanita pantherina poisoning: two sy...

Re: Need your help!

Well, you did nothing really wrong.... Method one produced an ibotenic acid tea. The first pass effect in your liver reduced the amount of active reagents in your body so much, that this result was to be expected. Method two was actually quite promising, IF the batch size had been bigger. Method thr...

Re: questions

First thing to keep in mind is: the distribution of active substances vary greatly, even in mushrooms that are the same size and that grew side by side on the same soil. Variations of up to 500% are not unheard of. So to be sure you are not underdosing / overdosing, you will have to determine the po...

Re: Amanita Pantherina, aka, Panther Cap

I haven't tried them myself (yet), but I know from H-G- Schaaf in Hamburg that whatever the fly agaric promises, the panther cap delivers... as he puts it... ;) According to him (and he knows his stuff - he sells fly agaric products in his shop), the panther cap can be treated just as the AM, but be...

Re: Freezing amanita preperation

No, the muscimol is not affected by freezing. IF you have a good idea about the potency of your extract, you could make "ice cubes" and kind of pre-portioning it that way. Just take out an ice cube and use it. But you still have to make sure, you know how strong your extract is... this is why we gen...

Re: Curing Dried Amanita Muscaria

I do my filtering this way: 1. step: through a cheese cloth (any fine cotton fabric will do the trick); 2. step: Yep, you guessed it: coffee filter. But I extend this a bit... I have some lab glassware here, so I can afford to grab me a nice glass funnel and stuff some cotton balls densely into the ...

Re: Curing Dried Amanita Muscaria

There are at least 2 ( easy ) ways to preserve even a larger batch. The first one is to filter your liquid extract REALLY WELL and to boil your extract down, so you get a powder, pack it into brown glass and add a desiccant sachet to keep stuff dry. Since this way offers you all advantages, I prefer...
