Re: Difference between ointment and tincture
Below area couple of videos which talk about making salves and ointments. There are many videos on YouTube about making herbal salves etc, but I posted the two below because they deal directly with Amainta Muscaria. Amanita Muscaria - Fly Agaric - Part I - by Swanie Simon. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: How strong are your Amanitas
Were they rained on a lot before you picked the AMs? On this forum you will read that washing, or sponging AMs is a definite no-no. Cleaning with water apparently washes out the ibotenic acid, so I was thinking that the mushroom being rained on a lot would also deplete the ibotenic acid, maybe. This...

Vacuum Jars, & Breaking Down AMs to Smaller Chunks for Storage, or Not.
1) Would storing Amanitas in a Ball-Mason or Kilner vacuum jar definitely prolong the strength of the active chemicals in Amanitas? 2) To fill a vacuum jar I would need to break down the Amanitas so they fit in the jar. How drastically would cutting Amanitas to smaller chunks, let’s say about one in...

Re: Amanita symbiosis with oak!
Yes I saw one last year, and this season so far I have seen two under different Oaks in areas where there a lots of Silver Bitches under which the Amanitas usually grow in my area.
I haven't seen clusters of Amanitas yet, as I do around Silver Bitches. They are lone specimens under the Oaks.

I have been researching a lot, and practicing sleep paralisis for some time to trigger out of body experiences. I don't want to writte about fantasy wit...

Re: UK Law and Amanita Muscaria
According to this article by the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4691899.stm dated 2005, they state the following: The law change does not affect another, much more rarely used magic mushroom: Amanita muscaria - more commonly known as Fly Agaric. I'll do a bit more research as this is very applic...

Re: A practice run at oven drying
Matt, most of mine end up looking like that. Could it be caused bruising? In my case by scraping off the mud, and finger pressure on the underside. I have a fruit dryer which goes up to 70.C, and it takes all afternoon and night. I don't remove them till the morning on getting up - so roughly anyth...

Is The Muscimol In The Red Colour
Because of all the warnings not to wash the Amanitas, not even to sponge them clean with a damp sponge, does that mean then that the red pigment of the mushroom contains the muscimol? I have in the past lightly sponged the mushroom off dirt, and found that even the lightest of wipes will transfer co...
