Re: Photos & Finds Thread

I went to the woods again today. I started early so I could spend more time up there looking for Amanitas, for come tomorrow I won’t be able to go to the woods again for at least a couple of weeks due to work. I think that by the time I’m able to go to the woods again, the season will be over, or am...

Re: washing them?

Teeter's book isn't an instruction manual. He's only reporting on the traditons. See my video on lore V science. Let me help clear up some thing for ya. Water and Amanita are not a good mix. The rain WILL wash out the actives as will rinsing them off at home and most certainly soaking them. So no w...

Re: Dehydrators - The Cheaper Ones

I bought a 'Cooks professional' dehydrator, but the clearance between the racks is only 15.mm, hardly enough room to dry a thick curly mushroom without cutting it to bits. Another dehydrator I ordered, but is being returned due to a missing foot-pad, is the 'Klarstein, Valle di Frutta' dehydrator, ...

Re: washing them?

I can't say, I haven't tried. I don't wash the dirt when it is sticks too hard to the skin but hopefully they will still have good strength since the rain doesn't wash down all the actives neither... Also go find some more, I'm sure you will find what you need ! I will. Tomorrow probably, or Saturd...

Re: Let's introduce ourselves.

Hi everyone. I already introduced myself yesterday, on Halloween, on the other thread, 'Welcome to the Amanita Research Forum', so this is my second introduction. I live in England, and there are a few woods nearby where Amanita Muscaria grows. To my delight, on my very first hunt, I found my first ...

Re: washing them?

But soaking in water wash down the actives very rapidly. A few seconds of contact with water is enough to loose almost everything in the water. I just found my very first batch of AMs the other day in my local wood. I think it is probably a bit late in the season. Because they were a bit muddy, I p...

Re: Welcome to the Amanita Research Forum!

Hi everyone. I’ve just joined this forum on this Halloween day. I hail from England, and there are plenty of Amanita Muscaria mushroom where I live, which, to my joy, I’ve discovered just a few days ago. I have picked them. There is a batch drying on my radiator as a type. Due to my occult interests...
