Amanita symbiosis with oak!
As far as I know Amanita always lives in symbioses with pine. So I was very surprised that I found these amanitas next to a road with only oak trees.

Re: Amanita symbiosis with oak!

clearly no pine in sight, just oaks.
AM does realy well on that particular spot. My harvest is drying now, but maybe in a few days I will return for a cap or two to spread to other oaks. I saw the vid about spreading AM under pines. If there is any difference with spreading them under oak, please let me know.

Oh yes, Oaks are great for AM to work with. I see many Amanitas where only Oaks are.
Where I live there not many pine trees so I always find Amantias close to oak and birch trees.

Yes I saw one last year, and this season so far I have seen two under different Oaks in areas where there a lots of Silver Bitches under which the Amanitas usually grow in my area.
I haven't seen clusters of Amanitas yet, as I do around Silver Bitches. They are lone specimens under the Oaks.
Rebis.
