I'm wondering if acidifying an alcohol tincture by adding citric acid or lemon juice would convert ibotenic acid in the tincture?
Dose anyone have experience or a understanding of the chemistry?
Thanks

Im curious as well, I have some tincture, I will add ascorbic acid to some, like 2oz, and let it sit for a week or two. I will go to baseline and then take my regular tincture. in a day or two I will try the acidic tincture and see if I feel less or the same amount of isotonic acid. I know that acidifying works when heating it with water, but I'm interested to see if it works with cold alcohol extracts as well. Maybe it would work if it was heated with the acid in it, altho it would need to be a safe condition without flames and good ventilation to prevent alcohol vapors from catching fire. Thanks for the idea! Ill write back <3

I tried to make lemon tek with bought tincture, using lemon juice from fresh lemon, sitting with hot water for an hour. I did not experience any difference. Then I made kefir that matured during twelve hours with tincture. It made a huge difference. This is not scientific and I only tried a couple of times so far, but with same low decarb tincture, so YMMV.
