I've decarbed Amanita using Amanita Dreamer's method of making tea from dried mushrooms by boiling them lightly for about 20 minutes. I've just recently come across this page which says to boil for 3 hours with the pot lid on and to pay very close attention to pH adding citric acid as necessary throughout the process.
Why such a huge discrepancy in time? And has anyone done both methods on similar batches of Amanita to compare the potency of each? Does adjusting the pH as the Amanita boils make a difference?
