Well ok I think I'm convinced about the ethanol and co2 production of the yeast phase of our mucor! Wow the possibilities here are really exciting! We have an Alcohol&More strain here!

That barely is perfect!!!! So the longer you let it go, the stronger it'll get, though not by a lot really. If you cut out a cube of it, set that aside to sporulate and completely air dry, you can then grind it into a powder, and you'll have nice clean innoculant for any and all projects! I'd say you can consider it done as soon as the sporulation starts. Now if you use a piece of that still living raw bread and introduce it to freshly made (and cooled) barley tonight, it'll be mostly done by tomorrow night, and likely completely done by the next!

You cant see it on the pic coz the quality is very bad((( but the fleece layers are thin, there is still some empty space for the fleece to grow and i think if i would try to remove it from the pot now it would brake in to small pieces( so ill prob wait untill it starts to turn black like urs did)
then i plan to eat a bit of it raw soaked in lemon juice then maybe try cooking it somehow with a lemon)...
Have you tried anything with the lemon yet???

Also i will prob only collect the spores without the barley mass to have a cleaner innoculant. A few pages back you showed a pic of your black thingy  and said it was still alive in that ziplock bag) is it with beans mass or just the fleece with spores???

But i will def cut a piece out of the raw living bread for my next batch, just to have it done faster)

And how about airless bread grow? Ill prob try it tomorrow)))
Also got a bit of homemade apple juice will start a bottle of airless innoculated with AM powder and a jar of normal ambrosia innoculated with spores from the bread.

No I haven't! I've tried with apple cider vinegar, and it MAY have worked? But I'll have to try lemon juice and see!

hahaha yeah that was just the fleece with spores. It grew back together into a mass! No beans in it!

If the trying to use the mucor yeast for bread, i think a regular bread dough is probably what we want. Mixed in really well, i wonder what would happen? Traditional bread smell IS the alcohol. Weird right?

Yeah I've struggled explaining it too. I really like it though! Did the rumbling cause any nausea? I've never had any nausea from the fleece.

@Splinters and Shards
Go for it! Maybe you can help us figure out the best way to maximize our use of the bread! Last night I ate a whole bunch of living bread, and it was still a little under-done the way I usually eat it. And it actually tasted WAY better! Lol. Like it was actually delicious. I think a bit weaker though, very few spores, but I still felt the light inebriation I usually get from eating it. This time I used quinoa, and it really worked well!

Sooooo :) i ate pretty much the whole bread after frying it on low heat) it was undercooked...
Two hours later i fell asleep) woke up 4 hours later coz of upset stomach) 2 trips to the toilet to throw up and 3 trips to sh*t water)
water wouldnt stay in me prob coz the body was trying to flush out the toxins...

Anyways it was my mistake, i should have cooked it more thoroughly...

@T36 wow man, I'm really surprised to hear that honestly! So maybe you are right and it is causing your body to flush itself out. I've never had anything close to that happen with the fleece, but perhaps that is because I have eaten very clean for the past year? (Mostly vegan) My body loves to eat the fleece, even completely uncooked, in fact I've had a couple days where I was actually craving it, and never a rumble in my tummy or nausea either... but when I did start eating there was an "ick" factor but I was also eating contaminated experiments.
I think my body has learned to love the fleece too, in fact the ibotenic acid effect on my body wasn't my favorite, it was a strange, somewhat uncomfortable buzzing sensation that made me wake up many times at night. But over time that sensation felt better as well, until now I very much enjoy it. Maybe there is a certain level of preparation/cleansing necessary to work with the fleece? I hope you aren't too discouraged working with it after that!
