Hola! This is Mendi from Spain.
So happy to find this forum.
A few years ago I was living in Northen Norway and it was the first time I got to meet the Amanitas, I met a couple that were using them as an antidepressant in microdoses, they would collect them every year and return the old ones to the land. Also I met some people from Stonia that told me that there it was very common to eat it raw between young people, they would take it directly in the place were it grew ( wich implied a lot of crazy trips, vomiting and stomach ache).
I try to dry some that I picked ( they burned a bit) and me and my partner had a nice soft trip, it was like a microdose feeling.
There I also found Psylocibe and try them fresh in a nice walk trough the forest...
I left Norway and many things happened in my life wich led me to a strong depression and PTSD. I went to therapy for a year and helped me a lot but I always felt that I needed something chemical ( I had abused for some years with MDMA and I felt my serotonine levels where always low) but I didnt want to take antidepressants, so my brother and me decided to grow Psylocibe mushrooms in our home.
I use them in microdoses for a few months and they helped me so much. I didnt need them anymore, only in special ocasions I would take them again.
Life passed and last year I picked Amanitas again in the French Pyrines with the intention of exploring them again but I wanted to study them properly before taking them again.
Now I'm feeling really strong it's the time for it. I can really relate to this feeling that old patterns are always coming back and I feel Psylocibe is not the helper I need now.
I'm really interested in discovering and learning about the medicines that were used here in Europe in ancient times, I feel sometimes we are really focus on medicines from really far away and we miss the learnings that we could get from plants and fungi found locally ( I dont mean to say Its bad to use medicines from far away, thats one of the magical things about globalization)
Thanks to all for the experience and knowledge shared!
Sorry if my english is not very well written
Salud y anarquía!

Hello everyone,

My name is LivingWorlder and I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I recently embarked on my journey to start my own permaculture farm/educational foraging farm. It’s hard to explain without going on and on. But basically a farm using synergistic regenerative natural farming that will host educational classes on foraging, mushroom and plant identification, farm techniques that make the earth a better place.

It’s funny, I’ve been on this forum many times to learn about a specific feature or mushroom and ways to preserve them but I haven’t actually looked around much. I’m so glad I did. I have been obsessed with learning about plants and mushrooms ever since I was a kid and my grandma would tell me every mushroom was poisonous. I had read a lot of books about Native American indigenous people and was fascinated with their culture and their close relationship with nature. Looking back I know I idolized the idea of being that close with nature, knowing the plants, animals, fungi and thinking of how wonderful it would be to be so close that it was living to me. As I grew up I realized I could have that relationship with the living world if I explored and listened.

I started learning about plant and mushroom medicine to help the people closest to me with hopes I can help others in my community.

I have also struggled with adhd and anxiety most of my life, it seems a lot of people struggle with anxiety and many other maladies of even worse magnitudes. I really hope we all find solace in the wonderful Amanita fungus and all the natural world has to offer.

This past winter we had a huge flush of the species Amanita persicina, a common species where I am. I took advantage of that and picked as many as I could get my hands on. I made a tincture for my MIL who has trangemenal neuralgia and has struggled with debilitating nerve pain for years. I just gave it to her so I’m hoping it will help with the pain. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know this fungus and look forward to future meetings.

Thank you everyone who contributes here! Thank you also for reading all my “ramblings”. I feel like my people are here.

Hi,
Im Daniel. I haven't tried it yet. I have the first one I found drying in front of a fan and space heater.
I have a brain injury from a head on collision that happened a long time ago. Someone in a hurry in a no passing zone.
Apiece of fat from where my leg shattered when through the blood stream and scattered into my brain. I had to lean how to walk talking speak all over.
It's been years and all the broken things don't get better with age. Neither does my brain. I am really hoping this can help with my PTSD from the wreck.
I tried all the pills and they are just poison. I want to get help with the anxiety and depression mostly.
I am trying to follow the videos but with my brain injury I can get lost and confused pretty easy.Im pretty sure this is the right mushroom.
The white spots are not there though. I thought when I first saw it the where there but after washing it off there are no white spots.
Do they all have white spots? I am trying my best here. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Hello Daniel,
Welcome to the community,
May your path be blessed,
and you'll find the mushroom helping your brain,
just note that the mushroom has "dumbing" effect,
especially when you go above your micro dose (or when the mushroom is "telling" you you should take a break from microdoses).

But it all passes after you clean out.

As for your question,
The mushroom bursts out from am "egg"(you can see it on the bottom of the "stalk"),
when it bursts through that "egg",
some of the "egg's" remains are left on the cap,
those are the white spots.

They can be washed off (by rain or when you clean up),
but they are important identifying feature,
and I would warn against collecting Amanitas that don't have them.
(I've read in a poorly maintained wiki, that this can be a red 'death cap'[Amanita phalloides])

Hi, dear all

Thank you sahra for starting this topic.

I'm male, 50years old. I found my first Amanita muscaria in the Swiss Alps one month ago.
I'm microdosing the powder of the dried, decarboxylated mushroom in the morning and in the evening.
To treat ADHD, ASD, anxiety disorder.

This mushroom is divine medicine for me.
