Question regarding the "tea"
Question regarding the "tea"
Great there's a forum now, the community is gradually growing!
I'm wondering.. I've watched the video about preparing Amanita muscaria "tea" from 15g of mushrooms. Properly steralised jar is required to store it, without the "tea" going bad in a few days. How long will such brew last for?
I'm after microdosing. I don't know the longevity of such tea so perhaps I should start with smaller dose of mushrooms, so I get a smaller amount of liquid.
What should I do here? Thanks in advance, I love this forum and the idea behind it!

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
Why don't you adjust the amount of mushroom in the tea? Don't take 15g, take 1.5g, that would be one serving, and you can brew it always fresh....

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
I use 11 grams to 2 cups water. Selecting from various sizes of dried mushrooms.
I had a number of batches go bad quite quickly even when I thought I was using very sanitized elements. I now mix 50/50 with Vodka. It initially develops a cloud that I strain. Shaken daily the batch has been good for 3 weeks.
I take 1/8 teaspoon 2 times a day for anxiety.
I dowse the measuring spoon in a container of isopropyl prior to measuring my tea dose.
This method has not fowled my batch.
A teaspoon of this mixture is long lasting and strong but reasonable to navigate. Don’t plan to drive. I haven’t pushed further with dosing.
My intent is microdosing medicine.

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
I have been working for a year now on not letting my batches go bad. I would like to make smaller batches but you run the risk of getting some hot batches that are very strong or getting batches that are very weak when you use fewer grams. That's the confoundedness of it all.Jahoda wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 5:06 pmGreat there's a forum now, the community is gradually growing!

However I found that once I have my tea, I can pour out 4 batches into smaller containers and freeze 3 of them while I use one. I haven't noticed any loss of actives when freezing and with this molecule having such a high melting point and being so stable it would make sense that freezing wouldn't hurt it.

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
How long would a tea last if made from 15 grams of dried Amanita caps, and used for microdosing only?
I ask because my combined batches of dried Amanita caps only come to 71 grams.
Is this going to last me a year?

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
for a year you'd have 0,2 grams per day, i guess that''s a really little microdose.

Ah, I see how you calculated it, 71.g divided by 365 days of the year.amanita muscaria wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 10:09 pmfor a year you'd have 0,2 grams per day, i guess that''s a really little microdose.
I guess it will just have to be the weekends then.

Re: Question regarding the "tea"
Thanks Amanita Muscaria. I shall probably make some sort of tea out of a 15.g batch each time, for microdosing, and take a quarter of a teaspoon in a drink to start with, and find out what my level is that way with each new batch.amanita muscaria wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:06 amsorry i was wrong, that's probably enough for daily use.Rebis wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 9:06 pmAh, I see how you calculated it, 71.g divided by 365 days of the year.amanita muscaria wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 10:09 pmfor a year you'd have 0,2 grams per day, i guess that''s a really little microdose.

If i don't make it with vodka or gin, then I might split the tea up into smaller portions and freeze them, as Amanita Dreamer suggested.
