What you guys think of this??? And why no1 ever studies or mentions Muscazone? Im asking coz alot of traditional AM users dry their mushrooms on the sun because they think thats the right way to prepare them and convert IA to MZ to make them stronger...
and is Muscazone really a MAOI inhibitor???

...There is no such thing as MZ.Muscimol and IA.Muscimol, Muscimol is the compound you listed as IA.Muscimol the other compound is; 5-Aminomethyl-2 (3H)-oxazolone and is not easily formed from Muscazone which is very stable in comparison to Ibotenic acid. Muscazone is not as active as Ibotenic acid but it is a MAOI so your theory may not be completely off...

Funny, I started to ponder about similar questions....

IMHO this is all, that should concern us.... the IA.Muscimol / MZ.Muscimol stuff is -by all chemical standards- humbug.

<in the fresh mushroom, there is a lot of IA, and there are two conversion "branches": the muscimol branch and the muscazon branch. So we have 3 basic modes of operation: IA for pain management (especially for external application. Tried and approved by hundred thousands of Russians with back and joint pains), muscimol for the GABA-A-receptor route, and muscazon for ....???? What is this stuff good for? It's hard to come up with good, scientific papers on that subject... At least I haven't found much yet.

Humbug or not i still believe that MZ and 5-Aminomethyl-2 (3H)-oxazolone play an important role in the experience.
Because scientists used to think that muscarine was the main psychoactive component responsible for the effects produced by AM...
And many scientific websites still to this day list 5-Aminomethyl-2 (3H)-oxazolone as Muscimol...

Speaking of Russians.

Siberians dry their mushrooms on the sun.

And those who use it for pain reliving make a tincture with vodka and raw mushrooms, then they rub it on the spot where they feel pain...most of those ppl live in cities and know very little about the mushroom. the recipe was spoken to them by a friend.

We don't have to "believe" anything. We have science! And you are on it here., your conversion tree.
Found this. It is older but at least newer than the 1960's/70's work. For those reading this thread look at page 134 in this study. It backs up UrsusSapiens' comment above. Not saying we can't still speculate. Science has a ways to go to unravel AM but at least this point so far, has been made IMO.
