Freezing amanita preperation

Post by Belle » Mon Nov 11, 2019 10:46 am

Hi

I'm new to this. I've prepared my aminita following the recipe on YouTube. I'm only using small amounts and don't want it to go off. Can I freeze it or will it destroy the muscamol?
Many thanks for your advice! :)

No, the muscimol is not affected by freezing. IF you have a good idea about the potency of your extract, you could make "ice cubes" and kind of pre-portioning it that way. Just take out an ice cube and use it. But you still have to make sure, you know how strong your extract is... this is why we generally recommend producing larger batches. To even out the differences between the mushrooms and to determine the potency easier. And BTW: less fungus material in the extract will help the freezing... because when you thaw it, it will not be so "slimy".
Thanks for mentioning this idea!
