Residual Effects Days after Dosing? (first time experience report)

I think I'm going to divide this post into two parts, otherwise it will feel really long winded. I'm going to state my primary concern, and then go into my medical history, which I think could be useful information as well.

I obtained a sample of fly agaric ointment, and tincture on Monday. I've never used any psychadelics before, although I have been curious about them. I was particularly lead to try fly agaric because of spiritual reasons (long story), and in an attempt to relieve a myriad of health issues including fatigue, anxiety, and depression.

On Tuesday at 5:00pm, I tried the ointment for the first time, probably in retrospect using something like the higher end of a microdose since I didn't really know how strong it was, and then I tried less than half a ml orally of the tincture the next morning on Wednesday. (So far the effects of the ointment seem stronger, but more pleasent... anyone have a recipe?)

The first time, right away I felt I could see better and everything smelled and sounded better and things were kind of funny. Then that evening, I got into a fight with a friend. The next day, I realized that after the initial nice effects, I fall into a state of anxiety. Every so often I would feel dazed and sleepy, especially if I was stressing about something. If I fought it, I'd go into an anxious thought cycle, but if I gave into the feeling, after a few minutes, it would pass and I would feel more focused and calm than I've been able to feel before taking it. Yet, I still felt largely detached from my body, and unable to feel fully engaged.

Three days later I'm still experiencing this pattern to some degree, although the effect is becoming less extreme with time. This really worried me, because everywhere I read, a fly agaric trip is supposed to last no longer than 12 hours at most, and that is usually from people who used much more than I did.

I contacted amanitadreamer and she graciously responded, letting me know that she also felt the periodic drowsiness when she first started experimenting with fly agaric. This made me feel slightly less afraid that I've somehow managed to fry my brain, but if anyone else has any input, that would be helpful as well. I am arguably better overall, but the moments of feeling dazed seem concerning and maybe even hazardous if I wanted to drive anywhere, and also seem to be making me slightly more skittish/paranoid.

For two days I did not use any entheogen other than a tiny amount of artemesia ointment to calm my stomach. Last night, as an experiment, I drank a couple glasses of wine to see how it would interact. I got really sleepy earlier than I normally do, and when I slept I had very stressful dreams (though they've been a bit stressful the last few days too), and woke up sore and depressed in a way that I haven't felt since before I used the fly agaric.

It was good, though, to remember how it felt, and pull me more into my body. As the effects of the fly agaric have been lessoning, I've also been able to notice that some of the positive effects are indeed genuine, and not just because I'm dissociated from my body. The depression also faded faster than usual and I went back into the dazed-alert pattern again. In spite of the fact that I still don't feel totally normal, I'm itching to try the fly agaric again, and probably will try two ml tonight to see what happens.

So...on the symptom side of things and how fly agaric has helped so far and what I hope it will help:

I'm a 28 year old pre-transition trans man (I think this is relavent rather than just stating I'm female, because I believe it affects my hormone levels and physical reaction to them, at the very least due to the stress from dysphoria). I am Asian American, stand at 5'2", and weigh about 115lb.

My main syptoms are fatigue, brain fog, slowed healing, difficulty sleeping well, possible narcolepsy, trichotillomania, depression and anxiety or PTSD-like symptoms, anemia-like symptoms, and sluggish digestion. I've had all of these to varying degrees since childhood, but it's gotten relatively debilitating in the last couple years, yet it's been nearly impossible for me to get any meaningful diagnoses.

In October 2019, I started having severe upper abdominal pain which lead to me going on an extreme elimination diet when I noticed that meat didn't seem to cause pain. Inspired by the experiences of Mikhaila Peterson, I went keto-ish for a couple months, then carnivore for a month, all the way down to beef only for a couple weeks before adding in chicken and starting to test other foods to see what I could tolerate.

Through this experiment, I realized that wheat had probably been causing my long-term depression, and that the consumption of meat, especially raw, relieved many of my symptoms and made me feel like I could take on the world, so I really believe in a meat-based diet. Unfortunately, eating nothing but meat can be really inconvenient, and I really longed for fruit and dairy(which I still can't tolerate).

Slowly my tolerance has gone up a little. I can eat most things other than chicken, beef, and fish in very small amounts if they are cooked, barring most oils and dairy. I noticed that more than 50g of carbs per day made me sluggish, so I've basically been keto-ish for a year now. While my mood is generally better at this point than it was before on a standard healthy-ish diet, ever since I did a long fast at the beginning of the year, I haven't been able to get my energy and mood back up to what it was prior to that and it has only been going downhill from there.

When I took the fly agaric, it didn't blast my mood into happiness as I hoped, although it seems to have made me somewhat calmer. One of the main things I noticed and liked a lot was that while I was high, I did not pull my hair at all and have been doing it somewhat less (it had reached an extreme degree leading up to this) since. I feel like my coordination is worse, yet somehow, I feel a little better balanced (I couldn't stand on one leg with eyes closed at all before), and I can dance better. My stomach pain seems to have lessened noticibly. My joint and muscle pain seems to be much relieved, and I seem to be overall more productive and have more strength.

Except when I am having the bouts of drowsiness. However, before I just felt a mixture sleepy and anxious constantly. It seems possible that it's somehow separated my states of tiredness and awakedness so that each are more pure. It's entirely possible that I just need to rest/sleep to recover and the fly agaric is just making it more able to happen. Sometimes it even seems to be using this effect to guide my thought patterns and decisions in particular directions.

I will write further on my speculations about this in another post comparing the effects of fly agaric to brainwave optimization.

Took 2ml of tincture with hot water. Definitely a mellower high. Didn't kill my symptoms as much. Watching TV makes you more sober. Light makes visual distortions more obvious. Slight sense of things being smaller. Hurts my stomach somewhat (not queasy, just the usual reaction to anything that's not a "safe food"). Will probably just use the tincture or cream topically unless I'm testing something different. Feel spacey but not especially tired, but also don't feel like doing shit. We'll see what difference there is in the morning.

Edit:
A bit less anxiety. Still relatively "awake" feeling...had trouble falling asleep. Still going in and out of the drowsiness but it's a lot less.
