Is this an Amanita muscaria?
Is this an Amanita muscaria?
Hello Amanita friends,
Was out in the woods today and found this small one. I think it's an Amanita muscaria, but I'm not sure... Would much appreciate your help, what do you guys think?

Re: Is this an Amanita muscaria?
I think I see a pattern around the edge of the cap that looks a bit like the lines some coins have on their edges - which is something I think I've seen on pictures of Amanita jacksonii...
Re: Is this an Amanita muscaria?
If Wikipedia is correct, the jacksonii only grows in North America, and I'm in northern Europe... (Which of course you wouldn't know.)thevoluntaryway wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 3:02 pmI think I see a pattern around the edge of the cap that looks a bit like the lines some coins have on their edges - which is something I think I've seen on pictures of Amanita jacksonii...
It's been rainy over the past few days, so I figured most of the white dots had simply been washed off...

Look up Amanita cesaerae, Ceasar's amanita. BUT for me, the stipe is too white and the cap is too red. The video was Amanita in June AND I am going to change the title now, to Finding Ceasar's Jacksonii Amanita.
