Is this an Amanita muscaria?

Post by djf » Sun Aug 02, 2020 2:17 pm

Hello Amanita friends,

Was out in the woods today and found this small one. I think it's an Amanita muscaria, but I'm not sure... Would much appreciate your help, what do you guys think?

It looks like it could be, but I am far from an expert

I think I see a pattern around the edge of the cap that looks a bit like the lines some coins have on their edges - which is something I think I've seen on pictures of Amanita jacksonii...

If Wikipedia is correct, the jacksonii only grows in North America, and I'm in northern Europe... (Which of course you wouldn't know.)

It's been rainy over the past few days, so I figured most of the white dots had simply been washed off...

well idk what the title of the video is and I can't find it on youtube or bitchute. But during a video she goes over these amanitas she finds in someones yard (they give her permission to film and pick them) and she says they are jacksoni an edible amanita and in europe they are called something different. I can't remember what and I am not saying eat this because Idk for sure what it is.

Look up Amanita cesaerae, Ceasar's amanita. BUT for me, the stipe is too white and the cap is too red. The video was Amanita in June :) AND I am going to change the title now, to Finding Ceasar's Jacksonii Amanita.

Thanks. Turns out I'm way too far north for A. caesarea.
