Eating it raw.

I have a question, sorry if I’ve somehow missed the answer.
When Amanita Dreamer ate a mouthful of raw AM she said it was one of the most pleasant experience of her life.
How can this be? I thought we had to eliminate the Ibotenic acid?

The single bite she had was a small dose - and it seems that there's a threshold for ibotenic acid below which it's safe (or safer) to consume.

Ibotenic acid isn't super bad or dangerous it is just easy to over do. Some of it will convert naturally in the body and the right dose can have positive effects it's just when you get to higher doses that things get nasty and unpleasant. All those claiming it is neruotoxic seem to ignore that that claim is based on a study where the stuff was injected directly into rat brains at high doses so I take those claims with a grain of salt

I see , so begs the question then how can we keep the fresh state so we can eat a mouthful and get the pleasant effects?

I have not yet found them myself but I know that if you want the qualities of raw aka max ibotenic acid drying without too much heat will preserve the shroom and not lower the ibo in any significant way 😊

I see, so is the goal then to dry without heat and take small bites whenever you want to “trip”?

You can use heat just want well below 165F. I wouldn't say one bite would make one trip. I mean it depends on the person and the potency of the mushroom and so many other factors. The only point is that a small amount of mushroom consumed that is not decarbed will likely not cause all the awful effects associated with high doses of ibotenic acid because it is not a high dose of ibotenic acid

I actually prefer them raw. I have it in the morning on an empty stomach and it helps with my general mood and productivity and I get so much work done while feeling great and energised. I air dry mine, grind it to a powder and pop it in a cup of cool water to drink. When I want a heat treated one I make a broth. I had a small new season cap yesterday and I had a buzz for the whole day lol.
