Is The Muscimol In The Red Colour

Post by Rebis » Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:18 pm

Because of all the warnings not to wash the Amanitas, not even to sponge them clean with a damp sponge, does that mean then that the red pigment of the mushroom contains the muscimol?

I have in the past lightly sponged the mushroom off dirt, and found that even the lightest of wipes will transfer colour to the sponge.

Does not sound right to me. We know the most concentrated area for actives is the flesh just below the skin which is not colored.
