For how long can Amanita spores remain fertile in storage?

I've made some Amanita Muscaria spore prints on paper to experiment with at a later date.
How long can these spores be stored for and still remain fertile?

Rebis.

If I've already dried my caps have I killed the spores?

Not necessarily.. Some believe mushroom spores can survive the harsh environments of outer space! Maybe that's where they came from;) I would suggest working with agar if you must work with spores from dried specimens.. It's much trickier, and the plates will absolutely be contaminated but with some extensive transfer work could be cleaned up. I recommend working with the powder from the bottom of a jar of dried fruits. This has worked in the past with other varieties of mushroom.
spores are cheap online though, it would definitely be easier to go that route..
