These Studies Suggest AM Affects Sex Hormones and Fertility

Post by chrisdoogy » Tue Jun 01, 2021 2:54 pm

I recently read a journal article about the effect of Amanita muscaria on fertility:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9239690/

The study suggests that muscimol can induce an aberration called "hyperactivation" in sperm cells. I read something else that suggests it might not be a bad condition, but I'm not sure.

I also read a study that found muscimol promotes the expression of aromatase, an enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen:

https://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015 ... 7/fulltext

1. Is anyone else familiar with the impact of AM on fertility?

2. Is anyone else familiar with the impact of AM on sex hormones? For example, would it be best to take AM in combination with anti-aromatic compounds to counteract those effects?

In my knowledge, it takes a large amount of hormones or even agonists to affect hormone production or change hormone production in any significant way. Birth control is straight up hormones and needs to be take every day for 30 days to be effective. People transitioning have to take them for over a year to see results that matter. Unless you're using amanita in high doses every day...
anyway, this are my thought processes but I am just a random person on the internet and not a doctor.
