What To Do with Washed-Out Mushrooms

Post by ms28 » Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:09 am

Hello beautiful people! Four related questions here...

Q1: After making tea according to the @AmanitaDreamer recipe, are the washed-out mushrooms good for anything?

Q2: Has anyone eaten washed-out AM mushrooms after the tea-making process?

Q3 and Q4: I thought about freezing my washed-out AM mushrooms until I could gauge the strength of the tea batch. It seems possible that - if there are still active compounds in the washed-out mushrooms - there may still be significant (up to 600x) differences in potency from one washed-out mushroom to another.

Does anyone know anything about this? If there is potential for potency differences between the washed-out AMs, is mashing them into a post-batch paste advisable?

-

It just seems wasteful (and possibly disrespectful) just to throw them away.

Thanks for reading :)

Hello
i saw a vidéo of someone who after cooking, recovers the mushrooms then eat them like shitaké or oyster mushrooms So without looking for effects but just for the taste !
so what i understand is after cooking the washed out mushrooms have no active compounds

Thanks for this response! They smell so inviting if you are a mushroom lover (and, I assume that most of us here are). This batch went to the redworms. Next time for the chef, and I'll toast to you my friend :o)
