sweet spot for temperature (with a crock pot)

I know the temperature to decarboxylate should be at least 155 F, but what is the maximum it can be if there is a "sweet spot"?

One of the videos said too much heat is counterproductive. Water boils at 212 F so I am wondering if this goes outside the range.

I assume boiling water works fine, but I was wondering if it would be possible to convert even more with a crockpot I have that came with a temperature probe that can keep the contents at 160 F.

Since crockpots normally heat up slowly I would first let the water get to that temp, then add the amanita for 20-30 min. Also, since the crockpot has much more volume than 1 cup, I might have to put a smaller container inside that the amanita and probe go into, kind of like a double boiler, but the probe would still be able to keep this inner container at 160 F.

Does that sound like a good idea? I want to get the most out of my precious amanita harvest :)
