I'm not sure whether to dry the stems along with the caps, or to simply throw them away. Any advice?
Thank you

Stems only contain trace amounts of actives I wouldn't bother keeping. You need them for ID purposes but once you are done with that you can toss em

Ok, thank you. I saw a video from Amanita Dreamer where she was drying them along with the caps and I didn't really get why.

I didn't see that, but no harm in drying em just no benefit to consuming them

If you are at all interested in fleece cultivation, the stems can be used as a source. As long as you dont dry them too hot (the cooler the better!), the fleece will grow out of them.

The fly agarics in this fall's crop are so huge that I haven't been bothering to dry the stems. So having some left laying around, I fried one up in some olive oil, and of course ate it. A stout stem, maybe 6 inches long. It turns out that they're at least mildly psychoactive. Kind of tasty, too - I might cut down on the seasoning a bit next time.

That was last year's harvest and I intended on doing some research on them. But turns out there's not much in them to bother with. i will keep looking but so far doesn't look like it. I wound up tossing them. This year I used them in my slurry.
